Kesar Badam (Saffron & Almond) Milk : Happy Holi

Made Kesar Badam Milk this Holi.

After giving much thought about what to cook on this HOLI – day, I settled for this amazing traditional North Indian drink. The rest was not too hard. Did some research for the recipe, got high on Bhaang, and then prepared this. All in all, a great holiday it was this year.



Take some milk and bring it to boil, then let it simmer and add some sugar to taste. Let it simmer for a few more minutes and then add saffron flakes or few drops of saffron essence. I used Kashmiri Kesar essence that i bought at the supermarket few days back. Also add a paste of almonds (soaked overnight, peeled and ground into a coarse paste) and let it simmer till it becomes a bit thick. Let it cool down for a bit and serve chilled. My word for it? Yumm and filling.
